Update!

Petunia has now completed her last Chemo treatment so she has decided Mommy needs to update the blog from now on as she's too busy finding out just how much fluff will come out of a stuffed duck.

She did really well throughout all of her treatments and until yesterday we thought she came through with no side effects. As you can see in the pictures below, although they predicted she would not lose her hair, this was not the case. Her hair isn't growing back very quickly form the areas that were shaved either.

She will just have to keep wearing pretty sweaters a little longer and wear lots of sunscreen if it doesn't grow back before summer. We go back every 2 months now to get an ultrasound and monitor her between the appointments to make sure the tumors haven't returned. We will continue to update the blog to let everyone know how she is doing and post the latest pictures.

Only 1 Chemo treatment left!

I went to visit the Doctor again on Friday. I only have one Chemo treatment left! The doctor did an ultrasound last time I visited her. I'm not sure why...I told her there were no puppies in there but she insisted. When Mommy came to pick me up the Doctor told mommy she didn't find anything, she should have just listened to me! Look How much I've healed up. My hair isn't growing back very fast though and my butt gets cold alot.

Mommy says after next week I only have to go visit the Doctor every 3 months. She said that they will do an ultrasound, I told her there aren't any puppies in there and that I told the Doctor that too. I dont even have a boyfriend! Mommy said the ultrasound is to make sure there are no more cancer bumps inside my belly, not to look for puppies. I didn't know that, did you? Mommy said I have done really well with all the Radiation and Chemo. My tummy was only sick one time and my sores healed up good. They hurt real bad for a few weeks but I tried not to complain. I hope you still think I'm cute! I even shaved my legs for you, just to the knee though LOL. Just kidding! The doctor shaves them so they know where to put the needle at when I get Chemo. When I'm done they even give me a purple bandage, my favorite color!

I think I'm going to go take a nap now. I have been up almost 4 hours today and I am really sleepy! See you in a few days!

I'm feeling so much better!

I know it's been a long time since I was here - it took mommy forever to help me post this update for you. I look much better this week! More importantly - I feel much better too and I'm not a conehead anymore!!! I haven't had to wear that stupid necklace for a whole week now. See how much better I look...

I still have to go to Chemo every other week but I'm all done with my radiation treatments now. I go to see the Doctor again on Friday and have more Chemo. Im not sure what happens when I'm all done with Chemo. Mommy says the Doctor hasn't really talked to her about that yet. I hope they dont make me stay with them all week long again. I like everyone there but it's really cold there and I have to sleep all by myself. At home I have lots of places to sleep and there's always a big blanket just waiting for me. Speaking of big blankets...I think I will go take a nap now. See you next week!

Update

Mommy decided to take some pictures today since she didn't take any for you this weekend. I hope you still think I'm cute after you see them though. I'm not feeling too good this week. I've been really tired, I haven't really felt like playing with any of my toys and sometimes it hurts me to walk around. I think mommy feels bad for me too because she gives me cheese every morning and every night and Oreo and Marshmallow don't get to have any, it's all mine! Mommy says I have to stay a cone head for at least another week. I don't like it though. I want her to let me take it off but at least it's purple. Mommy says she thinks the people at the doctor's place are trying to keep me. She said they made her wait almost an hour before they finally brought me out to go home. Do you think they were trying to keep me? The people there are all very nice but I don't want to stay with them. Well, here are the pictures mommy took, just remember, I'm still super cute inside, even if I'm not so cute outside.

Finally Home

I'm finally home! Mommy picked me up on Friday and drove me back to the doctor today for my very last radiology appointment. Now I only have to go to Chemo one day every other week for the next 2 months. I get to go to the doctor close to home so I get to sleep in my own bed every night! Mommy said she's not going to post pictures of my sore this week because it looks pretty gross and she doesn't want to surprise anyone. The people at the doctors place said it is going to get worse over the next two weeks and then it should heal up again. Mommy says I have to wear this thing on my head all the time now, even when I go to bed...I don't like it at all, but at least it's purple.

I wasn't feeling very good on Saturday and didn't really feel like eating any treats that night and guess what? I figured out that mommy was tricking me into taking medicine. She has been hiding it in my treats for the last three weeks...can you believe that? I'm not going to eat any more of those treats. I think mommy feels bad about it because she's been giving me cheese every day now. You don't think there's any medicine in it do you? I'm going to have to investigate that tonight. Do you think this makes my head look big?

I think I'm gonna go take a nap now. Will you be here when I come back?

Home for Christmas!

I got to come home again for the weekend! This weekend was special though, it was Christmas weekend! I got to see all my toys again that I got last week. I didn't play much though, I was soooo sleepy.

I slept almost the whole weekend. I got up to eat and then tried to find a nice warm place to nap. I decided right in front of the fireplace would be a nice place to be. You see my stockings? All three are for me. Marshmallow and Oreo dont need anything from Santa anyway.



Mommy didn't make me be a cone head all weekend until this morning, I don't like that stupid thing, keeps getting in the way of stuff. I tried to be good though and not touch anything but I'm not feeling good and it hurts now. Mommy says it will be worse next week and I will have to keep the collar on all week long.

Mommy says I might not have to go back the doctor really far away anymore. I might get to come home and stay home after this week! We probably won't know until the end f the week though if I will have to come back or not. If I do go back though mommy said it would only be for a few more days and not the whole week. I don't have to do Chemo this week either. I get to take a whole week off! The other doctor said I only have to go every other week now for the next month.

I have to go now though because it's time to ride in the car! I hope your Christmas was as good as mine.

Home Again!

I got to come home again on Friday! I miss being at home in my very own bed. My tummy is still feeling OK but I am starting to get a few burns where my scar is. Mommy says I don't have to wear the cone this week but I might not be so lucky next week.

Look what mommy gave me today...she said everyone at her work got me Christmas presents. I wanted to tell everyone Thank You in person but she said they won't let me come to work with her. Look at all the fun stuff I got! Do you see it's all purple??!!

 I got a sweater too but I think maybe I grew or something. It doesn't fit me too good. What do you think?

This is my sister Oreo. She pushed me out of the way and told me she had to check all my toys to make sure they are OK to play with. I think she is just jealous and wanted to play with them..  

I am very tired so I think I will go take a nap now. Thank you again for all my toys, snacks and sweater!
